Mr. Sterling, a self-made man, has two daughters. His younger daughter, Fanny, has married secretly and this clandestine marriage must not be revealed until the elder Miss Sterling has been safely married to Sir John Melvil.
Complications arise when Sir John and his elderly father, Lord Ogleby, both fall for the younger and secretly married Fanny!
This delightful comic romp in restoration style has all the ingredients for a hilarious evening's entertainment.
