The Mechanicals
April 24th to 27th 2024 – Harrogate Studio Theatre
An adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream, this charming play with original music, will transport you for an amusing hour or so, to a magic wood outside Athens!
Home I’m Darling
June 19th to 22nd 2024 – Harrogate Studio Theatre
Judy and Jonny have immersed themselves in the 1950’s. Judy has given up a well paid job to find fulfilment in the role of the perfect 1950’s housewife, following a rigorous regime of daily cleaning, home baking and growing veg. At the end of the day, off comes the pinny, and with a squirt of perfume, she is ready, with his slippers and a cocktail, for the return of her man.
Judy reckons they have the perfect life, but 21st century realities threaten her 1950’s idyll. Home I’m Darling won an Olivier in 2019 for best comedy.
The Haunting of Hill House
October 17th to 19th 2024 – Harrogate Theatre Main House
“Hill House had stood for 90 years and might stand for 90 more. Silence lay steadily against the wood and stone and whatever walked there…walked alone”.
This classic chiller is derived from Shirley Jackson’s novel of the same name and the powerful 1963 film “The Haunting” (Richard Johnson, Russ Tamblyn, Julie Harris, Claire Bloom). The film was remade in 1999 and a TV mini-series appeared in 2018, but we are presenting the original play – be prepared to be chilled!
