HDS is one of Harrogate’s leading community theatre groups.
We aim to put on three or four shows each year to entertain people in the town – both residents and visitors – and, in so doing, provide regular opportunities for local actors, directors, props makers, prompts, technicians, musicians, designers, carpenters, scene builders, administrators, playwrights, drivers, artists, costumiers and all who love to get involved with the theatre.
We put on most of our shows at the Harrogate Theatre on Oxford Street – either in the Studio Theatre on the top floor, or the wonderful and atmospheric Main Theatre.
Sometimes, we manage to get out into the wider community though – making a point of playing at village halls and similar locations all around our little bit of Yorkshire whenever the opportunity arises.
