This play was entered in the 2024 Nidderdale Festival and won the Adjudicator’s Discretionary Award. It is set on an archaelogical dig somewhere between Knaresborough and York. Warfield Lane follows new archaelogist Liz as she attempts to solve a 380 year old mystery with her supervisor Charles. They are aided by the mysterious Cat and visited by Jenny Bell, ‘tv’s first lady of archaeology’. The play centres on the battle of Marston Moor (1644) and it’s repercussions.
