Production meetings take place 4 to 6 weeks before performance with the technical staff of the performance space being used. For example, if this was the Studio at Harrogate Theatre, a meeting would be arranged with the following:-
- Director of the play
- HDS stage builder(s)
- Theatre technical staff
Discussions would be about:-
- Get in and get out days – times for both get in and out, and staff who would be working with HDS.
- Lighting
- Who will be available to re-rig the lighting if necessary
- Any special lighting effects that need to be supplied (such as gobo, strobe etc)
- Who will operate the cue’s for the lighting – will this be the HDS SM or the theatre?
- Sound
- How will sound be connected and produced?
- Will the theatre use a connection directly from the ipad?
- Will the theatre transfer the sound onto their own system and if so, who will do this?
- If sound effects are required from certain areas of the stage – will there be speakers available to do this?
- Who will operate the cue’s for sound – will this be HDS SM or the theatre?
- How will sound be connected and produced?
