What happens to the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies? Will the Gestapo keep it knockwurst sausage or be forced to hand it over to the German army? Will anyone spot the radio hidden in the Parson’s Nose of a cockatoo?

These are the burning questions in the clandestine and dangerous world of Resistance France in the dark days of World War II…..well, they are in the everyday life of Café René, scene of a finely balanced juggling act where, on the one hand, the proprietor René co-operates with the Resistance and, on the other, keeps chummy with the Germans.

And there are his own personal antics as he tries to keep two mistresses secret from his tone-deaf wife, Edith.

On top of all that, news comes that no less than Adolf Hitler is to visit town, opening the way for sundry attempts to impersonate the Führer before he arrives.

If you thought you’d never stop laughing at the outrageous characters in the television series, just wait till you see them on stage in the HDS production!!
